Smith teaches 5th and 6th grade Keyboarding Classes and the 7th and 8th grade Computer Applications classes.
The teachers taught students the many steps for essays in each of their classes such as writing process, researching topic and formatting process. Students worked on research, composing drafts, rewriting drafts and finally formatting essays according to contest rules on school computers.
All essays will be posted on middle school cafeteria wall in Perry, March , for everyone to have time to read the essays. Essays will be posted on wall in alphabetical order for each grade level.
The cafeteria is handicapped-accessible on west side of school building in Perry. Essays will be available for public to view during school hours and at school events during this timeframe. Announcement of the five essay winners will be Tuesday at an all-school assembly.
The five essays will be read to reveal top five awards in Class I competition for 7th and 8th graders. To complete the test, students must answer an essay question.
